Telescopic Hydraulic Cylinders — Long Stroke, Compact Retracted Length
Telescopic hydraulic cylinders for dump trucks, trailers and long-stroke applications. Single- and double-acting designs, custom stroke and mounting, 100% pressure tested.
A telescopic cylinder stacks multiple stages inside one another, so it delivers a long stroke from a short retracted length — exactly what a dump truck or tipping trailer needs to lift a heavy body from a low chassis height. The design trade-off is that each stage must seal precisely, or the cylinder leaks between stages and sags under load.
Where Telescopic Cylinders Are Used
- Dump trucks and tipping trailers
- Roll-off and hook-lift systems
- Material handling and lifting platforms
- Any application needing long stroke in a tight space
Single- vs Double-Acting Telescopic
| Type | Return | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Single-acting telescopic | Returns by body weight (gravity) | Dump trucks, tipping trailers |
| Double-acting telescopic | Powered return | Where the body must be pulled down under load |
Key Design Considerations
- Number of stages — more stages = longer stroke, but more sealing surfaces.
- Stage timing — stages must extend in sequence, not randomly, or the lift becomes unstable.
- Mounting — trunnion, pin-eye or flange to match your chassis.
- Rod / stage finish — hard chrome for seal life and corrosion resistance.
Quality & Testing
Every telescopic cylinder is 100% pressure and leakage tested before shipment, with inter-stage sealing checked under load. The same test discipline that delivers zero field claims on our US distributor’s cylinder program applies here.
Lead Time, MOQ & Trial Orders
- Trial order: from from 3 pcs.
- Sample lead time: 12–18 days.
- Production lead time: 25–40 days depending on stage count and quantity.
- MOQ: from 3 pcs (confirmed per drawing), confirmed per drawing.
Inspection & Documents
- 100% pressure and leakage test, including inter-stage sealing
- Dimensional inspection of stroke, stages and mounting
- Material and plating certificates on request
FAQ
How many stages do I need?
It depends on your required stroke and retracted length. Send both and we’ll recommend the stage count and size the cylinder.
Single or double acting for a dump truck?
Most dump trucks use single-acting (the body returns by weight). If your body needs powered retraction, we build double-acting. We’ll confirm based on your application.
Can you match my existing telescopic cylinder?
Yes — send the drawing or the old cylinder, and we build a direct replacement.
Send your stroke, retracted length and load for a quote.
