Sand Casting Parts — Iron & Steel Castings to Your Drawing
Sand casting is the workhorse process for medium to large parts in iron and steel, where low tooling cost and a wide weight range matter more than tight tolerance. We cast to your pattern or design the pattern for you, then machine, test and deliver finished parts.
What Sand Casting Is Good At
Sand casting uses a bonded-sand mould, which makes it the lowest-cost route for parts from roughly 1 kg up to several tonnes. It is the right process when your part is medium to large, lower volume, and needs complex internal cavities that are expensive to produce any other way.
| Parameter | Typical capability |
|---|---|
| Materials | Grey iron (HT200/250), ductile iron (QT400-18/QT500-7), carbon steel, stainless steel |
| Part weight | 1 kg – 3,000 kg |
| Dimensional tolerance | CT8 – CT12 (GB/T 6414), drawing dependent |
| Surface finish | Ra 6.3 – 25 µm as-cast; machined surfaces to your call-out |
| Tooling | Low cost, quick to make; patterns reusable for repeat orders |
| Typical order size | From small trial batches to repeat production |
Materials We Pour
| Material family | Common grades | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| Grey iron | HT150, HT200, HT250 | Machine bases, housings, counterweights, valve bodies |
| Ductile iron | QT400-18, QT450-10, QT500-7, QT600-3 | Housings, brackets, gears, pump bodies |
| Carbon steel | ZG230-450, ZG270-500 | Structural and wear-resistant parts |
| Stainless steel | 304, 316, duplex | Corrosion-resistant valve and pump parts |
From Casting to Finished Part
Most buyers do not want a raw casting — they want a part that fits. We pair sand casting with in-house CNC machining, heat treatment and surface finishing so one supplier takes the part from mould to assembly-ready. You avoid the hand-off risk between foundry and machine shop.

FAQ
What is the difference between sand casting and investment casting?
Sand casting uses a disposable sand mould and is best for larger, lower-cost parts with looser tolerance. Investment (lost wax) casting gives tighter tolerance and better surface finish but costs more and suits smaller, complex parts. We help you choose based on geometry, volume and budget.
Do you supply the pattern, or do I?
Both. If you already have a pattern we cast against it; if not, we design and make the pattern from your drawing, and keep it for your repeat orders.
Can you machine the casting too?
Yes — machining, heat treatment and finishing are done in-house, so we deliver a cast-to-print part rather than a raw casting.
